EntlebucherWe are situated in Denmark and we are a small and loving breeder of Entlebucher Mountain Dogs. I have two dogs at the present moment, and Australian Shepherd named Wupti and our breeding female Nenya, "Granted by Celebrimbor v.d. Via Aries".
Our dogs are first and foremost and always our beloved family members, living alongside us as any beloved family dog should - cuddling with us on the couch while watching a movie or keeping my feet warm in the bed :-) They are active working dogs, too, and we are competing in both Rally Obedience and FCI obedience, as well as training Search & Rescue. Both dogs are close to being certified. My dogs are more or less my life - they are both my family, as well as as breeding and dog sports is my hobby! The Entlebucher has a great lot of difficulties when it comes to breeding.
It is a small breed, so the number of available stud dogs is limited and you often will have to travel far to find suitable males that help to keep a geneticly diverse population. Also there are several diseases to take into acount. Different eye diseases are the most prevalent problem in the breed, but there are also some cases of hip dysplasia (seldom severe). Apart from this, the breed is healthy, though some breeders (me including) do some extra health testing. |

FCI Breeder of Entlebucher Mountain Dogs
For many years, I have been dreaming of breeding!
I have a great interest in breeding and genetics and I am choosing the male for my breeding female carefully, with a clear set mind of breeding for mentally and physically healthy dogs! My dog is to be my best friend - and my puppies are to be someone else's best friend! Therefore they should be able to be dogs and thrive in the society we offer them as a home. Lack of capability to adapt to our society means reduced welfare and freedom for both the dog and the owner. This is why I am not compromising. First and foremost breeding dogs have to be healthy, as well as mentally strong, friendly and not sharp. Secondly we can look at their comformation. |
